Child Sexual Abuse Prevention I

Course categoryEducators

As adults, we want to protect our children from sexual abuse and exploitation, offline and online. We need to fully understand the issue and have the skills and confidence to address it with children.

Stairway interactive e-learning courses will build your knowledge and confidence to talk to children about this sensitive topic. As an adult, you can be a catalyst for change in the fight against sexual abuse and exploitation of children.

What are the risks?

Sexual abuse and exploitation of children is a global issue, existing in both developed and developing countries. Violence against children is rooted in cultural, economic, and social practices. Globally, around 1 billion children aged 2–17 years old have experienced emotional, physical, or sexual violence. With the ever-increasing use of the internet and other forms of information and communication technology, sexual violence is recorded and distributed online, adding another complicated dimension to the problem of child abuse.
