Red Leaves Falling
Although information and communication technology, and in particular, the Internet, provide opportunities to promote children’s rights, the medium has also amplified CHILD ONLINE PROTECTION concerns. This section combines an animation story course with video lessons to help you understand the interrelationship and connection of child sexual abuse and exploitation in the offline environment and online spaces.
Red Leaves Falling is a story of child sex trafficking and the production of child sexual abuse materials. Under the stress of poverty and a dying child, a mother agrees to send her daughters off to work in the city as house help, but the girls end up as sex slaves in a brothel, enduring slavery, sexual abuse, and the production of child sexual abuse materials, until they are finally rescued.
To deepen your understanding of these issues, we've also prepared video lessons that explore various concerns about child online protection. These lessons focus on the Digital Divide, the Harms and Risks on the Internet, and the Four Cs Framework, which classifies online risks children may face.
