What are the risks?

The sexual abuse and exploitation of children is a global issue, existing in both developed and developing countries. Violence against children is rooted in cultural, economic, and social practices. It is estimated that over half of all children aged 2–17 years, around 1 billion children globally, have experienced emotional, physical or sexual violence.
With the ever increasing use of internet and other forms of information and communication technology, sexual violence is recorded and distributed online, adding yet another complicated layer to the problem.
